The key suspect who attacked Saif Ali Khan has been arrested by Mumbai police, according to online reports. The suspect was brought to Bandra police station in Mumbai for questioning after an extensive manhunt of more than 30 hours by the police.

The actor was stabbed six times inside his home in Mumbai’s Bandra at around midnight on Thursday. He was taken to the Lilavati hospital at around 3 am and was treated through the night by doctors.

The attack took place at around midnight when Saif heard a scuffle in his son Jeh’s room and intervened. He was attacked by the intruder with a knife but Saif and Jeh’s nanny managed to overpower him, locking him in the room. However, he soon escaped and was caught in the CCTV camera in the building.

Saif sustained two sever injuries and a 2.5-inch knife piece was removed from his spine during the surgery. The doctors informed PTI on Thursday that his surgery was done and the actor was on the way of recovery.

Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor Khan released a statement on social media about the incident. “I kindly request that you respect our boundaries and give us the space we need to heal and cope as a family. I would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation during this sensitive time,” she said.
